HOME STAGING AND ORGANIZING TIPS

USE A BUCKET TO TAME TOILETRIES
It's not easy to keep bathroom surfaces free of bottles, jars and items we use everyday, but it's necessary when your home is on the market. Leave only a few items out and put the rest in a caddy or bucket. Stash it away and when you get ready to shower, grab it and go!

PAINT POSSIBILITIES
If you are selling your home, consider painting any dark, dated or taste-specific color choices. For example, you may love dark red, mauve or neon green, but chances are others will not. Taking this step will help your home appeal to a wider range of potential buyers. Here are some neutral choices from Sherwin Williams: Biscuit (SW 6112), Believable Buff (SW 6120), Wool Skein (SW 6148), Softer Tan (SW 6141), Irish Creme (SW 7537), Patience (SW 7555) and Cargo Pants (SW 7738).

NO WIRE HANGERS
Wire hangers are not attractive and they can damage your clothing. Consider getting plastic, wooden or space-saving hangers. Not only are they sturdier and gentler to clothing, using one style of hanger will make your closet look more organized. Then recycle those old wire hangers at a participating dry cleaner.

ONE SIMPLE THING TO REDUCE CLUTTER
Before you cut out a new recipe, pick up a free sample or make a new purchase, ask yourself if it's necessary in your life. Do you have something like it at home? Will you really whip up that new recipe? Make the conscious decision to bring only the things into your home that are necessary or useful. By doing this, you'll help cut clutter and save time. If you don't have it, you won't have to sort through it at a later date!
